Description

In the first half of 2010, the Kentucky Advisory Committee completed an assessment of "un-met needs" for sustainable agriculture, then met as topic-specific sub-groups to brainstorm proper action that would address the "top 3" necessities. They focused on specific needs for producers, agents, and consumers. At the winter meeting, members developed an action plan for the first half of 2011, to include programming for Family & Consumer Science Agents, ,arketing education for farmers, a 2011-12 SARE grant proposal for grain production research, and further development of training programs and resources for county extension agents.
