OBJECTIVE: To provide a pool of resources that can be used to enhance and enable the implementation of research findings in an expeditious manner. BACKGROUND: At the conclusion of a research study implementation of the findings is often one of the biggest hurdles to overcome. This project will provide resources to the Kentucky Transportation Center to enhance and enable the actual implementation of recommendations from various studies. Possible uses of these resources would be for assisting in the development of new specifications and policies; providing training and related materials to Transportation Cabinet personnel on new procedures; monitoring and evaluating new product installations and performance; and other activities that will lead to implementation of research fmdings. FY 2006 ACCOMPLISHMENTS: A pocked-sized handbook was prepared to document typical applications of mobile and short duration work zone activities, and short-term stationary operations for both types of roads.
