Description
OBJECTIVE: To provide a pool of resources that can be used to enhance and enable the
implementation of research findings in an expeditious manner.
BACKGROUND: At the conclusion of a research study implementation of the findings is often
one of the biggest hurdles to overcome. This project will provide resources to the Kentucky
Transportation Center to enhance and enable the actual implementation of recommendations from
various studies. Possible uses of these resources would be for assisting in the development of
new specifications and policies; providing training and related materials to Transportation
Cabinet personnel on new procedures; monitoring and evaluating new product installations and
performance; and other activities that will lead to implementation of research fmdings.
FY 2006 ACCOMPLISHMENTS: A pocked-sized handbook was prepared to document typical
applications of mobile and short duration work zone activities, and short-term stationary
operations for both types of roads.
