I) Review surrounding state a:nd releya:nt national longitudinal joint construction
teclmiques a:nd related specifications. 2) Review and conduct field trials of new teclmiques for
longitudinal joint construction. including joint reheating, improved rolling patrems, and other basic
consrruction techniques. 3) Monitor joint performance associated with the implemented cha:nges in
gyration levels. 4) Monitor initial joint perfonnance and develop consrruction guidelines and appropriate
specifications
