OBJECTIVES: I) Review surrounding state and relevant national longitudinal joint construction
techniques and related specifi cations. 2) Review and conduct fi eld tri als of new techniques for
longitudinal joint construct ion, including j oint reheating, improved rolling pattern s, and other basic
construction techniques. 3) Monitor joint performance assoc iated with the implemented changes in
gyration levels. 4) Monitor initial j oint performance and develop construction guidelines and
appropriate specifications
