Improving Phosphorus Recovery in Aquaponic Systems Through Environmental Manipulation of the Plant Rhizosphere Microbiota

University of Kentucky will lead the metagenome, metatranscriptome work to determine the microbial composition of aquaculture samples in different conditions and will be responsible for the assembly of reference metagenomes during Objective 1 and of metatrascriptome assembly and analysis during Objectives 1, 2, and 3. Sequencing library preparation, sequencing, and sequence assembly and annotation will be carried out at UK. Lopez will provide support during analysis of objectives 4 and 5 data sets and will be responsible for q-PCR analysis of gene expression during Objective 5.
