Increasing Composting Efficiencies at the University of Kentucky

Abstract The proposed project aspires to increase efficiencies and impact of the University of Kentucky’s waste diversion efforts, by acquiring and placing two 40 cy open top roll-offs containers with ramps, for the collection of green waste (leaves and brush). The project will also include acquiring 2 top dressers/ compost spreaders to facilitate the use of finished compost on the Unviersty’s grounds and lawns. Lastly, the project will include placing a cart tipper scale on our food waste truck, to capture and record weights of the waste collected at different locations.
