Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The Kentucky is honored to partner with Safe States and the University of North Carolina Injury
Prevention Research Center (UNC IPRC) to pilot the implementation of the Injury-Free NC Academy on
Using a Shared Risk and Protective Factors (SRPF) Approach to Prevent Violence in our state. This
project aims to test the feasibility, accessibility, and acceptability of a newly developed SRPF Academy
manual designed for use in states beyond North Carolina.
Our goal is to leverage this opportunity to train multidisciplinary teams across Kentucky in effective
violence prevention strategies using a public health framework. The SRPF Academy focuses on
addressing the root causes of violence by targeting shared risk and protective factors that influence
multiple violence outcomes. This pilot will involve three training sessions, incorporating two in-person
two-day sessions and one one-day session.
