Grants and Contracts Details

Description

(Source: Safe Playgrounds 2004 RFP, March 15,2004) University of Kentucky Research Foundation will build a safe playground for the children in its community as described in its proposal to the Injury Free Coalition for Kids in response to the 2004 Request for Proposal set forth in January 2004. In this process, University of Kentucky Research Foundation has partnered with its regional Allstate Foundation Representative from the beginning of the planning process; developed a proposal and budget to apply for a grant to build a safe playground for children in its community; identified a proper site, obtained approval, provided proof and substantiation of need (e.g. surveillance data and pictures), and developed a complete playground design that includes the uniform recognition signage. University of Kentucky Research Foundation also described how the balance of funding will be obtained and indicated an individual in the department at your institution (e.g. marketing, public relations, or communications) who will work to develop and implement the media launch event accompanying the playground build. Finally, University of Kentucky Research Foundation has agreed to complete the playground build during the 2004 calendar year and submit a Final Project Report by January 1, 2005.
