Install New Green Waste Ramp Container at the University of Kentucky

Abstract: The proposed project is to purchase and install a forty-cubic yard green waste ramp can container on University of Kentucky’s (UK) main campus. The green waste ramp will replace a pre-existing container and provide a more efficient operation for green waste collection. With the increased efficiency of this operation, this is expected to also increase the quantity of yard waste collected, which will help UK increase their total organic waste diversion rate and, thus, help reach UK’s goal of becoming a zero-waste campus. Materials collected as green waste include leaves, tree limbs, logs, and brush.
