Description
Abstract
The proposed project is to purchase and install a trommel screen on University of Kentucky’s (UK) main
campus. The equipment will improve the University’s compost operation by screening out contaminants
in the finished compost, allowing the University to expand its post-consumer food waste and
compostable paper towel collection while maintaining the same quality product. This will result in an
increase in organic waste diversion and help towards achieving UK’s goal of becoming a zero-waste
campus.
