Integrating Product Design and Biomedical Engineering into I&E Ecosystem at UK: Expanding Impact of Human-Centered Innovations

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Abstract: This proposal seeks funding for developing a cross-listed course, “Integrated Entrepreneurship in Product Design,” in University of Kentucky’s (UK) College of Design Product Design and College of Engineering Biomedical Engineering programs. UK stands at an inflection point of I&E that holds significant promise for course development and student impact due to recent program advancements such as a multi-institution NSF-funded Innovation Corps Hub and rapidly expanding platforms for I&E and social impact. Supporting I&E activities in the recently launched Product Design and Biomedical Engineering undergraduate programs further leverages UK’s health research campus to propel innovations with wide human-centered impact.
