Intentional Transformation: AMIA Pathways Fellowship

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Abstract This project is a subaward for a project overseen by the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA). The AMIA Pathways Fellowship (APF) is an Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant funded project that supports paid internships in combination with mentorship and professional development training to forge pathways in the audiovisual preservation field for people from groups historically underrepresented in the profession. These fellows engage in professional development through webinar training; remote mentorships; office hours with specialists in the field; and three onsite paid internships. Dr. Brian Real of the University of Kentucky has been asked to perform an evaluation of the program. This includes interviews of all fellows who are willing to participate. He will then use qualitative coding to finds notable trends among the interviews, allowing him to advise Pathways leadership about possible areas for improvement and document strengths of the program. His work will also lead to a short evaluation that will be included in the final report to IMLS, along with a peer-reviewed academic journal article.
