The following timeline highlights the next critical monograph phases for the period of the renewed IPA. October: Section Editors’ conference calls to review chapter revisions October- March: Plans for hosting face-to-face March Monograph Meeting November-March: Review2tK drafts for Monograph Sections I thru 5 April: Oversight for 31( internal review May-November: Final drafts due for copyediting and data verification May-November: Revised Drafts sent for peer review December: Preparation for Volume Review In addition, assignee will author the monograph introduction, contribute to the author consensus writing of chapters in sections II, III, IV, secure an expert to write the forward, co-produce a monograph glossary of terms, and provide leadership during the NCI clearance process. Assignee will continue to be fully engaged in the strategic planning mission, goals and activities for NCI’s Network on Biobehavioral Pathways in Cancer, assisting Dr. McDonald with Network projects, planning and leading Network meetings when appropriate, respond to daily and ongoing Network tasks as needed, and continue to translate knowledge and skills learned from the success and challenges with the TReND model. Assignee will provide leadership for the translation and dissemination goals of the Network strategic plan through the creation of a network advisory board, collaboration with colleagues and peers from internal and external federal agencies, and community boards and other NGO’s. Additionally, the preparation of a manuscript focused on the clinical care component of biobehavioral pathways research is in progress and will be submitted in spring of 2013. The scope of work for both the TCRB and the BBPSB at NCI reflects an opportunity for tangible results and demonstrable evidence for the scientific merits of the study of tobacco related health disparities, and biobehavioral influences on the macroenvironment in cancer outcomes, respectively. The benefit of a public health perspective helps ensure the research to practice philosophy strongly endorsed by several NCI initiatives.
