Description

- Increased public awareness of invasive pests in Kentucky. - Providing information to citizens so they know the signs and symptoms of invasive pests of concern to Kentucky. - Increased probability of early detection of pest infestations throughout Kentucky. - Early detection of quarantine pests resulting in management and/or eradication of smaller infestations and reduced damage to natural and urban areas. - Development of a broader audience awareness of invasive pests. - Increased likelihood that concerned citizens will detect invasive pests and report them to UK OSE personnel so that appropriate steps can be taken. - Providing information to citizens about the pathways along which invasive pests move so that citizens will change their behavior to slow or stop the spread of invasive pests. - Explain and describe current eradication efforts aimed at invasive pests in locations where they have been detected in order to increase public understanding and acceptance of those efforts.
