Grants and Contracts Details
Description
Kentucky’s vast forests comprise 48% of the state’s land area and are some of the most diverse
in the nation. Yet, our forests are endangered by countless invasive plants. Currently, there is no
effective infrastructure to address invasive plants statewide and developing this capacity is
essential. We are proposing an Invasive Plant Strike Team with the capacity to decrease invasive
plants at a landscape scale. Led by a partnership between the KDF and the UK, this model will
involve a range of state and federal agencies, NGOs, and landowners to facilitate effective
management.
