IPA: Building on Federal and State Landslide Research Collaboration

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Building on Federal and State Landslide Research Collaboration The primary objective of the research opportunity is to continue collaboration with the U.S. Geological Survey Landslides Hazards Program (LHP) through the Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) Mobility Program Guidance. The program provides for assignments to or from state and local governments and institutions of higher education intended to facilitate cooperation between the Federal Government and the non-Federal entity through the temporary assignment of skilled personnel. Each assignment should be made for purposes that are of mutual concern and benefit to the Federal agency and to the non-Federal organization. Work will revolve around the objective the LHP aimed at reducing long-term losses from landslides by improving our understanding of the causes of ground failure and suggesting mitigation strategies. We will work on development of research ideas, share data collection approaches, evaluate susceptibility and risk, and lending expertise where needed related to landslide hazard assessment.
