IPA: Small Molecules to Promote Regeneration and Recovery Following Spinal Cord Injury

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Small Molecules to Promote Regeneration and Recovery Following Spinal Cord Injury In this collaborative project with Dr. Samy Meroueh from the VAMC in Indianapolis and Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) my laboratory will test various compounds and their ability to promote axonal regeneration. This will be performed utilizing an in vitro SPOT assay which incorporates cultured dorsal root ganglia neurons and mimics the regeneration inhibitory environment of the post-injury spinal cord. Through this study we will be able to screen compounds to test in an in vivo model of spinal cord injury.
