Is Endoreplication of Myonuclei a Target for Muscle Growth?

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Statement of Work A sub-contract with Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) will be established. Drs. Esther Dupont-Versteegden and John McCarthy will serve as co-investigators of the sub-contract with Dr. Benjamin Miller at OMRF. Drs. McCarthy and Dupont-Versteegden will be responsible for the generation of muscle specific knock out and transgenic mice to be used in the experiments proposed in the application. Specifically, the following mouse models will be generated: 1)HSrtTA:TRE-Cre/floxed Rb1/flowed p19ARF/TRE-H2b-GFP designated HSA-RAG. 2)HSA-rtTA/TRE-H2b-GFP/TRE-Myc mouse designated HSA-MYC 3)HSA-rtTA; TRE-HSV-TK mouse designated HSA-TK Drs. Dupont-Versteegden and McCarthy are also responsible for the initial phenotyping experiments for the mouse models. In addition, under the subcontract Drs. Dupont-Versteegden and McCarthy will assist with analyzing any muscle specific data analyses and will use emerging new technologies, such as muscle specific AAV-related experiments to generate new mouse models if needed for the experiments. Finally, they will also contribute to writing, editing and dissemination of manuscripts and through other media.
