Description

Abstract Eight proposals were submitted in response to a request for proposals and evaluated for acceptance. Five (5) research projects and one information transfer project are included in this application and are summarized in Table 1. These projects will provide funding for 16 students including eight (8) undergraduate students, six (6) masters students, one (1) PhD student, and one (1) post doc. These projects involve six (6) different institutions (University of Kentucky, Western Kentucky University, University of Louisville, Murray State University, Eastern Kentucky University, and Asbury University) in a variety of discipline areas (earth and environmental sciences, biological science, civil engineering, geographic and environmental sciences, and science and health). The intent of this approach is to strengthen programs related to water resources and to encourage development of broad-based research capacity related to water in the Commonwealth.
