Description
The purpose of this project is to create and deliver several crash analysis workshops to city, county and highway district personnel. These workshops will demonstrate effective ways to use crash data and roadway data to facilitate safety improvements. The primary focus of the workshop will be to illustrate how to integrate road data (highway geometrics and traffic volumes) with crash data and how to access each database for the interested agency. Topics will include overrepresentation, crash rates (and the disadvantages), Highway Safety Manual methodologies, crash tree diagrams (methods from FHWA’s Systemic tool) and crash mapping.
Facilitate the delivery of crash web portal login credentials to at least 20 agencies.
Facilitate the delivery of crash and roadway extracts to at least 10 agencies.
Deliver the workshop to at least 80 attendees.
Hold at least four Crash Analysis Workshops by September 30, 2014.
