Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Title: Appalachian Center for Assistive Technology Abstract: We proposed to establish an Assistive Technology Resource Center (ATRC) to serve the disability population in eastern Kentucky. The Appalachian Center for Assistive Technology (ACAT) will accomplish this role through education, demonstration and loan of assistive technology (AT). A maker space will be established to allow for the rapid adapting of equipment to meet the individuals needs for the people we serve. The ACAT will also serve as a training site providing foundational level training in disability and AT to rural high school students as well as advance training opportunities for professional students (SLP, PT, OT, etc.).
