Kentucky ADMS Update for 2006-2007 - Planning Study No 17

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Task 1: Data retrieval and inspection The research team will work with KYTC and ARTIMIS/TRIMARC to retrieve the archived traffic monitoring data and incident reports. The file format will be examined to ensure the consistency with the requirement of the data processing algorithm used at Kentucky ADMS. New devices, if any, added to the system after 2005 will be identified. In such case, additional programming of the database and interface will be necessary. Deliverable: A summary of devices that produced data during 2006 and 2007. Task 2: Data archiving The data archiving program will be executed to (1) extract the IS-minute "segment files" and (2) create and populate tables in the ADMS database. This task also involves aggregating the original IS-minute records into hourly and daily levels, as well as the computation of AADT for each site. Deliverable: A set of tables created and populated with 2006 and 2007 data. Task 3: Data quality screening and missing data imputation The quality screening program will be executed to generate data completeness and quality report. New tables will be created to store this infonnation to support user query. Imputation algorithm will then be executed to provide best estimates of those missing values. Deliverable: Data quality report table and imputed data items. Task 4: Update interactive map service and web query interface The iterative map service and web query interface will be updated to reflect the added data. Test will be conducted to ensure the nonnal operation of the server. Deliverable: An updated user interface with 2006-2007 traffic data available for query.
