Description
The purpose of the Kentucky Deaf-Blind Project is to address the educational related services, transitional, and early intervention needs of children who are deaf-blind by collaborating with state education agencies, Part C lead agencies, and local education agencies. Expected outcomes for children who are deaf-blind and their families:
• Improved outcomes to personnel;
• Increased early identification and referral;
• Facilitated emerging literacy and numeracy;
• Expanded supports during transition;
• Increased support for involvement in education and transition opportunities;
• Information for providing a State-by-State needs assessment.
• Increased number of certified paraprofessionals and qualified teachers; and
• Increased use of paraprofessional evaluation systems.
