Abstract The State DeafBlind Projects are designed to increase access to, and progress in, the grade-level general education curriculum, including grade-level or alternate academic achievement standards, for DeafBlind children and improve their communication skills with a goal of supporting lifelong learning, including postsecondary education and employment readiness. (OSEP Grant Application 2023 B-6) The Kentucky DeafBlind Project (KDBP) provides statewide technical assistance and training to persons who have a combination of vision and hearing challenges. Services are offered to persons free of charge from birth to 22 years of age, and also to their families and service providers. The contract between the KDBP and the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) serves as a supplementary to the work of the Project that is funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).
