Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The Kentucky Energy Club will continue to serve existing Energy Club programs established at postsecondary college campuses across the Commonwealth, while continuing efforts to establish new programs at other college campuses as well as secondary schools in coal producing counties of eastern and western Kentucky. The primary goal of the Kentucky Energy Club is to increase student awareness of energy-related topics and promote career opportunities in the energy industry. To meet these goals, tours of energy producing facilities are organized and lectures on a host of energy-related topics are offered. Activities are led by students under the supervision of Faculty Advisors.
In addition to the above stated goals, the Kentucky Energy Club disseminates information to students pertaining to further study and scholarship programs that are available, as well as provide the opportunity to assist in energy-related outreach and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education programs. A workforce development program has been established and will continue to provide mentoring/job shadowing opportunities for students interested in energy careers.
