Kentucky Geologic Data for the Hicks Dome Regional EarthMRI Priority Project

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

This is a sole-source project sponsored by the USGS National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program with funds dedicated from the EarthMRI initiative. This will support examination of available documentation on the geology of rare earth elements and strategic minerals in the Kentucky portion of the Illinois-Kentucky Mineral District in far western Kentucky and production of associated digital geologic map products and a digital document archive. Specifically, the Kentucky Geological Survey will deliver a geodatabase of digital map layers, a cartographically complete GeoPDF summarizing Kentucky data, a digital bibliography and catalog of relevant publications and geologic documentation, and a summary report describing resources, techniques and results.
