KGS STATEMAP FY2022
Kentucky Geological Survey
Abstract
The Kentucky Geological Survey is seeking funding from the USGS National Cooperative Geologic
Mapping Program STATEMAP program for geologic mapping activities in 2022-23. All projects are
following the guidance of the Kentucky State Geologic Mapping Committee, and address national
priorities outlined in the most recent STATEMAP program announcement. Project one will use field
mapping, soil sample characterization, and LiDAR analysis to generate new surficial geologic maps in
Warren County, Kentucky. Project two will compile 3D stratigraphic surfaces and associated data for
prioritized geologic targets across the state.
