Project Mission: The mission of the project shall be to initiate and/or continue several activities consistent with the Mission Statement for the Kentucky Research Consortium for Energy and Environment (KRCEE). In completing this mission, KRCEE shall provide summaries of monthly progress on each activity for inclusion into an Annual Status Report due to the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office (PPPO) at the end of September each FY. Additionally, each task shall provide one or more draft and final reports. The final reports shall be included in the KRCEE library of documents found on the KRCEE website (http://www.uky.edu/krcee/). Final reports shall also be submitted to DOE’s Office of Scientific and Technical Information (http://www.osti.gov/). Project Goal: The project goal is to develop technical information that the PPPO, its contractors, and the public can use in decision-making for the environmental cleanup of the Paducah site. Researchers located at KRCEE and at one or more cooperating institutes of higher learning, national laboratories, and/or government agencies shall develop this technical information. Activities dealing with the Paducah site should preferentially utilize one or more researchers located at institutions in Kentucky or in neighboring states.
