Description

As part of the mitigation for inadvertent impacts associated with the Main Street and Prestonburg Road Improvements Project, Morgan County (KYTC Item No. 10-293.00), the Department of Historic Preservation at the University of Kentucky will work with the Kentucky Heritage Council (KHC) to prepare historic resources survey forms and associated documents (maps and photographs) as part of the KHC’s transition from paper to electronic files. These activities will improve the quality of electronic materials and make them accessible to users of the KHC library. To accomplish these tasks, the Department of Historic Preservation will employ up to three (3) graduate students to work in the offices of the KHC up to 20 hours per week during the regular academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer. Student workers will be selected competitively in consultation with KHC staff. Student workers will be under the supervision of Craig Potts, the State Historic Preservation Officer and Executive Director of the KHC, while working at the KHC offices. Professor Daniel Vivian of the Department of Historic Preservation will provide administrative oversight at the University of Kentucky and coordinate selection of student workers.
