KHIT 105, Bridge Crack Investigation I-24 Overpass in Trigg County

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has requested that the Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) to investigate cracking on a fascia girder (girder #4 over pier 2) of an overpass bridge – 111B00047N (Bush Road over I-24 in Trigg County). This is a low-ADT bridge anticipated to be subject to periodic heavy farm-related loads. KYTC officials are concerned that a heavy overload possibly caused severe cracking in the subject girder (which has subsequently been repaired).
