KHIT 144: KYTC Division of Construction Procurement Technical Assistance

Abstract KHIT 144, KYTC Division of Construction Procurement Technical Assistance PI: Bryan Gibson 7/1/21 to 6/30/22 Co-I’s Ryan Griffith and Steve Waddle KTC will be assisting Kentucky Transportation Cabinet with technical research assistance and support on a project seeking improvements and updates for the KYTC Department of Construction Procurement Contractor Prequalification system/database and will be researching information specifically on how to improve monthly letting responsibilities. Project Work Plan: Major Tasks and Activities: Task 1, Assist and provide support on monthly lettings: Process submitted Q/A and assist with other monthly letting duties, as requested by the Director. Task 2, Investigate Contractor Prequalification state of practice at other STA’s: Review other states’ prequalification processes and prepare a report of findings. Task 3, Prepare recommended revisions to current prequalification process: Review current statutes, regulations, and policy regarding contractor prequalification. Propose changes to the contractor prequalification process to streamline the process. Task 4, Draft prequalification policy: Work with KYTC personnel to draft policy that complies with statutes, regulations, and policy.
