KSEF KCF: Novel Therapeutic Approaches to Treatment of Parasitic Disease and Related Clinical Conditions

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Recent advances in our understanding of novel treatments for infectious diseases have led to the identification of new mechanisms for highly specific, selective and possibly permanent interferences with the processes underlying certain ocular, fetal and central nervous system ilnesses, including schizophrenia. The proposal sets forth the conceptual basis for these approaches, details the relevant prototype developed in and commercialized from our laboratory, sets forth how proof of concept, already partly established, will be extended to these new therapeutic areas, how these concepts will be reduced to practice and put into formats in which they can be developed as patent-based intellectual properties (IPs) or other intellectual properties and ultimately marketed as new human and or veterinary therapeutics and developed as Kentucky-based commercial ventures.
