Project Title: KY Division of Compliance Operator Survey UK Organization Submitting Proposal: KWRRI Primary Contact Person: Lindell Ormsbee Contact Phone Number: 257-6329 Contact Email: [email protected] Project Need Describe the project need: The KY Division of Compliance has identified a need to survey water and wastewater utility operators to identify possible barriers for recruitment and retention. Project Work Plan (How are you accomplishing your objectives?) Following an initial kickoff meeting with DCA leadership and the Operator Recruitment and Development Subcommittee (ORDS) of the Drinking Water and Clean Water Advisory Council of the Kentucky Division of Water, KWRRI staff will develop an initial survey for both operators and administrators/managers. The survey will be reviewed and revised by the subcommittee before being pilot tested by a focus group of operators and administrator managers. The final surveys will also be reviewed and approved by the University of Kentucky Institutional Review Board before dissemination. Following a finalization of both surveys, they will be distributed electronically, and the results will then be compiled and analyzed by the KWRRI staff. The results of the survey and the associated analyses will then be compiled into a formal written report. KWRRI staff will coordinate their activities through monthly meetings with the DCA leadership and the ORDS on a monthly basis. Project Deliverables 1. Draft Surveys 2. Finalized Surveys 3.
