KY EPSCoR Administrative Costs FY22-23

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The Office of the vice President for Research (OVPR) at the University of Kentucky (UK) proposes to continue assisting with the day-to-day operations of KY EPSCoR. As a research-intensive land-grant institution of the Commonwealth and with member representation on the Statewide EPSCoR committee, UK will facilitate KY EPSCoR’s administrative operations and work with partner institutions and the Statewide Committee (described below) to support and expand the programs of KY EPSCoR. Over the past four years, the OVPR significantly reduced the administrative costs to operate KY EPSCoR (from over $200K to $16.5K), enabling more of the budget to be available for the required state match to federal programs that bring funding to Kentucky. The KY EPSCoR Statewide Committee continues to be led by Dr. Blaine Ferrell and will continue to serve as the governing authority for use of funds within the KY EPSCoR budget, including for programmatic decision making, as described in the existing bylaws. Moreover, workshops, state committee meetings (with venues rotating between institutions as COVID restrictions allow), travel, membership and the state-wide conference will continue under the auspices of the Statewide Committee.
