Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development has engaged the O ice of the Vice President for
Research at the University of Kentucky to assist with day-to-day operations of KY EPSCoR. As a
research-intensive land-grant institution of the Commonwealth, UK will facilitate KY EPSCoR s
administrative operations and work with partner institutions and the Statewide Committee
(described below) to support and expand the programs of KY EPSCoR.
This established collaboration signi?cantly reduces the administrative costs to operate KY EPSCoR,
enabling more of the current budget to be available for the required state matching funds to federal
programs that bring funding to Kentucky. There are no proposed changes in programmatic decision-
making authority for KY EPSCoR.
The KY EPSCoR Statewide Committee, currently led by Cathleen Webb, will continue to serve as the
governing authority for KY EPSCoR, including for programmatic decision making, as described in
the existing bylaws. Moreover, workshops, state committee meetings (with venues rotating between
institutions), travel, a facilitated statewide plan for KY EPSCoR, membership and the state-wide
conference will be under the auspices of the Statewide Committee.
