Consistent with the prior commitments as agreed to and outlined in the grant proposal submitted to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and consistent with the specific activities of the grant, the University of Kentucky Research Foundation and the University of Louisville agree to the following scope of work: Faculty, post doc and research students will conduct research in bioinformatics, producing research papers and publications on results bioinformatics research. Attending conferences including the regional meeting and poster presentations related to the bioinformatics field. Pilot projects will introduce biomedical researchers to new technologies available in their respective fields. Bioinformatics software will be purchased to expose current and new researchers to the new software available. The University of Kentucky (UK) will operate the UK Bioinformatics Core of the grant. The core supports bioinformatics related activities at UK. The core will provide reports upon request and grant specified tracking and evaluation will be used.
