Grants and Contracts Details

Description

This proposal requests a supplement to my DOE grant to work on a collaboration with Prof. Andriotis to make head ways in this field. Our group uses a fully quantum mechanical generalized tight-binding molecular-dynamics (GTBMD) method to obtain structural and magnetic properties of materials. The group of Andriotis has expertise in the area of ab initio methods for doing the same. Furthermore, Andriotis and Menon have collaborated on the development of quantum conductivity methods for nanomaterials. Thus, the expertise of Menon and Andriotis are complementary and of tremendous mutual benefit when given an opportunity to work together.
