Grants and Contracts Details

Description

1. Multistate assessment of the pest status of the soybean tentiform leafminer Objective: The severity of infestation by soybean tentiform leafminer will be determined for the edge and interior of soybean fields in at least 30 fields spread across the soybean producing region of Kentucky in August. Fields to be selected will preferably have a treeline or other wooded area on at least one side. 2. Determining the efficacy of foliar insecticides against Dectes stem borer and the relationship between infestation and soybean yield loss Objective: This project will assess the severity of infestation and evaluate the relationship between infested plants and yield loss in each participant state. 3. Soybean thrips, and other Insect Pest Species of Soybean using the Suction Trap Network Objective: This study will collect insects from a suction trap that the University of Kentucky has at the Research and Education Center at Princeton to be tallied and identified.
