Description
In accordance with KRS 214.155 and 902 KAR 4:030, the Cabinet shall provide screening for heritable disorders for newborns and infants including definitive diagnostic evaluations that shall be provided by the state university-based specialty clinic for infants whose initial screening tests resulted in a positive test. The goal of the newborn screening program in the Department for Public Health is to ensure that all infants born in the Commonwealth of Kentucky receive a newborn blood screen, and that any infant with an inconclusive or presumptive positive screen is evaulated for a definitive diagnosis for the eastern region of the state.
