Mine Mapping Program

This agreement provides (3) full-time positions to the Office of Mine Safety and Licensing (OMSL) and the Division of Oil and Gas. The Office of Mine Safety and Licensing is responsible for collecting statistics relating to coal mining in the state and making an annual report of the statislics. The OMSL is also responsible for indexing and maintaining permanent records of all mine inspections made by OMSL. All historical and active mine maps are indexed and are retained as permanent records. All oil and gas wells in Kentucky are maintained in an oil and gas database.
