Monitoring Culvert Load Change Under Foam Concrete Filling Area, Federal Aid Research Task no. 152

The KY Transportation Cabinet, Highway District 6, has requested the KY Transportation Center to examine the actaul culvert loads at an on-going job site. To check design assumptions, this project is designed to install concrete strain gauges to monitor load changes on the ceiling and sidewall of the culvert. A report will be prepared documenting the installation of tghe strain gauges and pressure cells, datum collection and analyses, comparisons between test data and data obtained from numerical analysis, and any problems that may arise.
