Description
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Office of Education, in cooperation with the International Space Station (ISS) Research Office, is selecting projects that utilize the ISS as a microgravity platform or test bed for a spaceflight demonstration for current or previously-funded NASA EPSCoR projects that are mature enough to design a research experiment or develop research experimental hardware to the point that it can be safely flown on the ISS. The project will perform scientific and/or technical research in areas that support NASA's strategic research and technology development priorities and contribute to the overall research infrastructure, science and technology capabilities, higher education, and economic development of the jurisdiction. Utilization of the ISS will further strengthen the relationships between NASA and the EPSCoR jurisdictions in the pursuit of national priorities for the advancement of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The proposed project will eject a 1U CubeSat from the ISS to study a spacecraft attitude determination system based on a star imager.
