Description

The Kentucky Cancer Consortium is a statewide partnership committed to putting the Kentucky Cancer Action Plan to work. The Consortium provides a framework in which organizations and individuals can unite as one force to fight the significant cancer burden in the state by addressing the four main areas along the cancer continuum: Prevention, Early Detection, Treatment, and Quality of Life. The Kentucky Cancer Registry (NCR) proposes to attain four main goals as part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , National Program for Cancer Registries (NPCR) : (1) Achieve complete case ascertainment of reportable cancers in the residents of Kentucky in a timely manner. 2) Maintain accurate and consistent information regarding the demographics, diagnosis, treatment, and survival status of cancer patients in the NCR. (3) Manage data electronically and perform electronic data submissions. (4) Promote the use of RCR data to improve cancer control and cancer control research.
