Description
The purpose of this study is to:, (1) establish the basis for making decisions about the
identification,evaltiation,registration, and treatment of archeological resources and (2) integtate,
preservation planning into the broader park planninh process: This study is designed to fulfill the,
requirements of the Secretary of the interior's "Standards for Preservation Planning" included in
the "Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Histroic Preservation." It also complies with the National Park Sercvices (NPC) Cultural Resources Management Guideline (Director's Order
[DO]-28). The guideline thus applies the Secretary's Standards to the NPS's management of
cultural resources.
