Description
The Kentucky Geological Survey has proposed a one-year project to be sponsored by the
STATEMAP component of the USGS National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program,
following the guidance and direction of the Kentucky State Mapping Advisory Committee. This
project will produce new surficial geologic mapping of five 7.5-minute quadrangles in and around
Warren County, Kentucky. This new surficial geologic mapping will include field examination of
landforms, sample collection, and sediment and soil characterization, delineation of lithologic
boundaries, and production of a GIS geodatabase. This project directly addresses the priorities of
Kentucky stakeholders as represented by the Kentucky State Mapping Advisory Committee.
