NSF I-Corps - UK Subaward - Abstract
This subaward project is a 5-yr project which aims to establish and operate an NSF I-Corps site
at the University of Kentucky in a partner role of the Mid-South I-Corps Hub, led by Vanderbilt
University. The UK I-Corps site program will be implemented as a complement to the Launch
Blue UAccel program, a service of the Office of Technology Commercialization at UK Innovate
within the UK Vice President of Research operation.
The National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps (I-Corps™) program uses experiential
education to help researchers gain valuable insight into entrepreneurship, starting a business or
industry requirements and challenges. I-Corps enables the transformation of invention to
impact. The curriculum integrates scientific inquiry and industrial discovery in an inclusive, data-
driven culture driven by rigor, relevance, and evidence. Through I-Corps training, researchers
can reduce the time to translate a promising idea from the laboratory to the marketplace.
