Description
The United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS) Kentucky office is partnering with the University of Kentucky, Kentucky Division of Water, and the Kentucky Division of Conservation to assist farmers and landowners with nutrient management planning. This partnership will create a staff position in the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food, & Environment to work directly with producers in need of assistance to become compliant with state and federal regulations regarding the management of fertilizer, manure, and other sources of nutrients on the farm. The staff member will work through state- and county-level partner offices to deliver information. The staff member will travel throughout the state to deliver educational programs and distribute information using multiple media outlets. The staff position will be funded through a statement of work agreement between UK and the USDA-NRCS and an additional work agreement between UK and the Kentucky Division of Water.
