Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The Odom group has prepared a variety of phenothiazine derivatives for energy storage applications. Some compounds are particularly stable and soluble – requirements that are critical to their use as additives in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and as electro-active materials in redox flow batteries (RFBs). While the Odom group has performed extensive measurements in the former application,1 in RFBs, testing equipment at UK is limited to small-scale, stationary mimics of RFBs. While these stationary batteries provide initial performance characteristics,2 testing these compounds in a true flow system is necessary for further evaluation.
