Description

Abstract OHS, Develop an Online Dashboard for Automatic ATR and Classification Data Processing and Demand Factors Update The goal of this project is to create a dynamic analytics dashboard for the ATR and classification count data. The dashboard will allow users to easily upload and process ATR data files by year. The backend database will store the data, while the frontend interface displays various statistics, such as health reports by station, data completeness by highway type, and hourly factors by functional classification, as well as any other useful information determined by the Cabinet. The dashboard will be highly interactive and user-friendly, making the ATR data more accessible and timelier for users. The ATR and classification data are vital source for deriving information that are needed in planning and engineering studies, such as hourly volume factors, day of week and monthly ADT factors, truck volumes and percentages, and average growth rates by functional class. These factors are extensively used by researchers and consultants working on the KYTC projects. There is an on- going project to update those factors and produce the seventh edition of Traffic Forecasting Report. However, there is a concern the updated factors will be no longer reflective of traffic conditions in a few years. To address this, we propose to develop a pipeline that automates the whole process to ensure that demand factors are regularly updated when new data become available. Additionally, to improve the accessibility of ATR and classification data and derived demand factors, an online dashboard will be developed to display various statistics, such as health reports by station, data completeness by highway type, and hourly factors by functional classification, as well as other useful information needed by the Cabinet. 1. To develop a pipeline that automates the processing of ATR and classification data. 2. To develop an online dashboard to interactively visualize ATR and classification count statistics and demand factors.
