Description
The purpose of the Paraeducators of Kentucky (PEK) project is to build and sustain a workforce of highly qualified paraeducators. The project's goal is to provide relevant, research-based training for paraeducators in formats that meet the highest demand and that result in improved learning outcomes for students with disabilities and other students at-risk. The project will provide continued professional development for Kentucky's more than 13,500 paraeducators in order for Kentucky schools to meet their performance goals under the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA), the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) and the individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
